Congratulations, nice find! I'm curious if you could provide some details on what kind of setting/time of day you found her, as I have a lot of trouble finding Camponotus below 6000 ft.

Re: When to expect a response?
GAN is very slow. It took a week for my last buyer's request to be passed on to me.

Re: Plaster of Paris in Ant Keeping
I've never used it myself, for the reasons you've listed. A grout and sand mixture seems a better option, and works the same way.

Re: Colorado Nupital Flights
Hey, where has everyone been? Hopefully, you are all taking caring for queens you have successfully found this summer! I'd love to hear about what you guys have found so far, although I'm not sure if this would be the proper thread. Perhaps we should start a CO thread in the Community Hub board, see...

Re: Colorado Queens ID
Are all of the Formica closups of the same queen? Since there is silvery pubescence on at least three gastral tergites, and the antennal scapes do not appear to be shorter than the length of the head (from the clypeus), then she would appear to be Formica argentea . The reddish queen is Lasius subu...

Re: Won't move
I attached my test tube with queen and workers to a hybrid nest, I checked on them a couple hours later and no move, a few more hours they started turning the formicarium into a trash pile, help on moving them in. What species of ant? How many workers does your colony have? Are you using light and ...
