The queens that I'm hoping to make available are Camponotus Floridanus, Dorymyrmex Bureni, Psuedomyrmex Gracilis, ...

I'm at a loss on this ant.

I'm not even sure if this is a queen. Caught in Orange Beach Alabama. 7-8mm.

Can anyone tell what these are? somewhat small, ~5mm maybe a hair less. Was able to capture 4. All are doing well with egg piles.

Odontomachus queen? Need help!

I'm pretty sure this is Odontomachus Haemotodus. Caught in Gulf Shores Alabama. She has some spider wed wrapped around one of her feet, I have no idea how to help her get it off! http://i68.tinypic.com/2b7huu.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/33w71p3.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/1zywpeb.jpg http://i64.tinypi...

Re: First attempt at ant keeping

A test tube set up is best. Look at the AntsCanada youtube video on how to do a test tube set up. She will more than likely be in the tube until spring.

Re: Camponotus queen?

Thanks for the ID I was pretty sure that's what it was. She laid a group of eggs the first night I had her in the tube. Haven't checked on her in about 5 days now.

Let's not derail this topic, but may we have a link to said post?
Oh you were talking to that other guy about his queen in my thread. I'm not familiar with that post.
