Identification Help

Okay so I've had this colony for a good few months. I never got the queen identified [not sure why, it just slipped my mind], and now she's been hidden away in their test tube with sand and dirt they've built a tiny nest out of. I found a video from before that though and towards the end it shows ve...

Eco Earth for soil nest?

I caught a new queen who's being incredibly picky and seems to intensely dislike her test tube setup after a week. I wanted to seal off an Omni Nest outworld and make it a soil nest to let her found her colony naturally. What I wanted to know is if EcoEarth was anything anyone had tried as substrate...

Re: AntsCanada T-Shirts

In my opinion they should have a nice logo for the shirts. Something more artistic.
But that's just me. I'd still totally buy an AntsCanada shirt either way uwu

ID Help [Again]

I found a new queen. Again when I wasn't even looking. She was in my pool, half drowned. Her name is Ophelia. [I'm freakin hilarious] She's acting normal now so she wasn't that close to dying I suppose. Also she has shed her wings since I took her picture [about an hour later, since I was making sur...

Re: Digging Material in Test Tubes? [Y/N]

Lol it's not that easy. Where my house is I cannot seem to find any ants, I'm right by the water and I've gone on long walks to search before. I found her just chillin in front of my grandma's doctor's office looking for a place to dig but that is sadly like an hour away. She's my first queen that I...

Digging Material in Test Tubes? [Y/N]

Okay so I've seen various people do different things in regards to giving their queens in test tube setups digging materials. My Solenopsis invicta queen is in a warm environment [a dark box in my non air conditioned garage], and I left her alone for a good four days before checking to see if she wa...

Re: New Queens [ID HELP!!]

I did find a few pictures of ants that looked like her called Formica pallidefulva.

However I was reading what Formica queens and ants generally act like and she hasn't been aggressive or stand-offish.
In fact she doesn't care about me taking her picture at all.
