I found brownish ants on the tree in the front of my yard. I live in northern Illinois, USA. I guess these are a sort of Camponotus, but not sure. Does the queenless camponotus pennsylvanicus colony adopt a new queen?
My camponotus pennsylvanicus queen died a month ago and I have a new queen with the exactly same species. The queen has some eggs and pupae. Does the colony will accept the queen? What is the best strategy in this situation?
