Caught 2 of these an hour ago. I've lived at my current home for 5 years and have never seen these guys around here before.
About 14-15 mm. Thanks for any Ideas.

Hey guys, just caught some new queens today and im not sure about the first two. Here are their pictures and size. Don't put your queen in the tubes until the interior has dried out a little.

just caught this queen after i got home, aswell as a bunch more iridomymex. she looks like a normal iridomymex from the top, but her underside is very yellow and that got me interested. She still has her wings and i got no idea if she has mated since i caught here while i was running, but her unders...

Thanks for all your responses everyone. It looks pretty much bang on as your picture JackPayne, same with the other two I caught. They all seem happily laying their first few eggs, so I'm on the road to them growing their first workers! I shall continue researching Iridomyrmex!

Thanks for measurements! Is it possible at all to get clearer photos? It could be either Camponotus or Iridomyrmex . Took her out to get some more photos, but my camera just doesn't like focusing easily on small objects. These are the best i could get, but i think they are actually not bad compared...
