Queens wont accept sugar

So I have a couple colonies and many semi claustral queens. I try to feed them sugar once every week, but they don’t seem to accept any of the honey I give them. In fact, my trap jaws cover the honey in sand so the sand absorbs the honey. This is worrying me and if anyone knows how I could provide m...

Ant keepers in Venezuela

So I am an ant keeper that lives in Venezuela. I was wondering if there are other people from here, so we could share our knowledge about colonies and trade queens.

Trap-Jaw Ants Are Picky Eaters, Was Probably Not Interested In The Food You Provided.
All my other trap jaws enjoy eating anything I give them: honey, sugar water, honey water, cricket, termites, chicken, boiled egg, fried egg, and fruits. She also eats it but not as much as the other queens.

Re: Trap Jaw Acts Weird

No, just scared. It just feels weird for me because the other 2 queens are super chill when I handle their test tubes and clean them and feed them. They don't even get that scared when i accidentally poke them with the tip of a q tip. I might be wrong, but I feel like you shouldn't disturb them by ...

Trap jaw queens are semi-claustral you HAVE to feed her.
I fed her every 3 days, but she never foraged for food and I didn't want to touch her test tube just to not stress her.

Re: Inquiry

Odontomachus Should Be Treated Like A Semi-Claustral Queen, Probably The Mistake You Did. I kept her in a nice dirt outworld with a test tube set up where she lived. After she finally obtained her first pupa, I left her for like a month just putting food in the outworld. I noticed she stopped eatin...
