Re: WHATS THE BEST NEUTRAL EXOTIC ANTS?

In my opinion, ant keeping experience is based more on time in hobby rather than species kept. Exotic species, escpecially the more exciting ones, are annoyingly hard to keep, far harder than pheidole.

The leptogenys binghamii died from dehydration, while the leptogenys rufida never actually ate anything so those are gone too. The leptogenys kitelli are still alive and kicking. The anochetus queen has several fuzzy larvae in her test tube. The diacamma have 4 pupae.

Re: Aguywithants's ants.

Basically, a ergatoid queen is a queen which resembles workers by the fact that they have no wing scars as they never actually had wings. normally they look like a worker with a larger gaster. Not all species have ergatoid queens. queen: https://i.imgur.com/afA8XVQ.jpg (has wing scars) ergatoid quee...

Re: Aguywithants's ants.

Nope, ergatoid queens and gamergates are different. To catch them, I scoop up the entire colony, because they live in loose soil/leaflitter.

I caught this colony near my school, with 1 queen, 15 workers 1 larvae and 12 eggs, they eat crickets every day and it is very entertaining to watch them as they only eat moving prey.
