Re: Help identifying Ant from backyard
 You found 12 queens? all clustered together, at the beginning of March, and have them digging their own claustral chambers that you can see into... I think this is the most amazing thing I have read yet... :D This I'd probably give my half leg for a 6-10 queen super colony captured in the v...

Buy a starter kit of some small feeding animal like wingless fruit flies and then you're good for a couple of months probably

Re: Dirt Setup
Hydration can be accomplished by literally just wetting the dirt. An idea I'd like to try is putting a plant in with the dirt setup, as the roots would give structure to the dirt (preventing tunnel collapses) and possibly soaking up excess water. Basically this If you look up my posts you can find ...

Re: Product Endorsement: Omni Nest Vertical
Solenopsis spp. 24 days after moving in to my brand new Omni Nest Vertical: Large. http://i.imgur.com/qnvL0Wx.jpg All of the brood pictured has developed since move-in. The brood pile is over 1,000 larva and pupa. Very happy ants. Colony sparingly occupies 8 of the 55 chambers of the nest; probably...

Re: Video of making my second ytong formicarium and acrylic outworld
I wanted to note that when you are working with once living wood it has the chance of becoming moldy if your setup is moist. The one I have in the _outworld_ was getting moldy because I have that area around 70% humidity because of the species I house there, but after I treated the wood with hot, sa...

No
They kill each other
Broodboosting is possible eith eggs but (don't take it as an offence, I wouldn't do it either) seeing the level of the research you've done/knowledge you have I wouldn't recommend even attempting it

Re: how do i get ants out from outside
prepare a big bucket preferably with escape proof layer on top (if its a small colony, if it's huge you don't care if a few worker escape and always dig way around the area you think the nest is located, like if it's a 30 cm radius circle dig at least half meter radius and dump the soil in the bucke...
