Ant queen identification (possibly Lasius)

I recently found this ant queen walking around well I was up at my school. I immediately picked it up in my hand because I didn’t have anything to hold it with as I wasn’t really looking for ants at the time. I think it’s of the genus Lasius but I don’t know for sure. What ant is this

I found these tiny little yellow ants fighting wrong some myrmica ants in my driveway, I saw some of their alates coming out of the nest and they were just walking around. Now I doubt this queen has mated as I found it close to the nest but I did take pictures of it and I am keeping it just incase. ...

Myrmica Species(semi claustral)

One of the queen ants I recently caught is ignoring the protein I give her. She is of the genus Myrmica, I don’t know her exact species but I know she’s definitely semi claustral. I gave her a meal a little bit early at around 4 days after being caught, she did end up drinking the honey, but ignored...

New ant ID! I was outside talking with my family when I saw this ant and picked it up. As I took a closer look, to my surprise it was a queen!! I found this in Buffalo, NY. It’s black and looks like it could be Formica guava or Lasius Niger but I cannot tell Here are the photos https://imgur.com/a/a...

Ant Indentification

Caught a new queen. It was near a railroad under a rock. It is dark and yellowish. It looks like a Lasius queen but idk the exact species. I live in New York USA. It is about 8.5 millimeters (not an actual measurement).

Camponotus Castaneus

I recently found this ant species that I really like. I realized that they live in parts of my home state (New York) which made me excited. But I don’t know where I might find them. Since it’s near the end of nuptial flight for camponotus queens, im wondering where I might look for some that have al...

Re: Species Suggestions

Thanks you for your suggestion. I’ve heard so many bad things about buying queen ants. For that reason, I never have and never will plan on buying queens online. I love searching for them anyways because it gets me outside and gives me something else to do other than sitting around.

Species Suggestions

I recently decided that I wanted to found an ant colony. I’ve found a few queens, but I can’t seem to find a species that I like. And if I find any, they’re either to hard to keep, or aren’t found near me. I live in the United States, New York. I’m looking for an ant species with a vibrant color (ye...
