Hi again. So that black and red queen settled down and now has like 5 workers. But now I'm wondering when I should hibernate my ants and for how long. I believe thier both Camponotus.

I found a new Camponotus queen. She's black with red legs. I put her in a test tube set up but she keeps tearing at the cotton is this normal for a newly caught queen?

[*]Well i thought my queen was doing fine but I come home today and found 1 of my 2 larvae(it was just about go into cocoon) is just gone. Where did it go. Did the queen eat it? If so why?

Thats a cool name. Might name them that well see if i come up with one

Well my queen is coming along nicely now. I'm just waiting for the brood to grow up. I was thinking I should name my colony. Anyone got any ideas

Well my queen finally got her act together and moved into the new test tube. They really like byformica ant nectar. I put a micro feeder in their test tube outworld. They seem to drink out of that just fine

Like no part of your camponotus colony is dark

I've put some fruit flies in there but they won't touch them
