Re: Test Tube Width
I just checked on my ant and I removed the black spots which smelled like honey. She has been hooked up to another test tube directly with tape for weeks because her test tube ran out of water. She’s refused to move in though, and I have just poked holes in the tape to give her air to breathe, when ...

Re: Test Tube Width
Could be. It didn’t look like the pictures online though. It may have been caused by having it’s legs tied together. It is kind of hard to describe what is looked like, but all of its legs and both of its antennae were quite literally squiggly! They were bent in all sorts of curves, kind of like a b...

Re: Test Tube Width
I tryed freeing them with tweezers, but her legs weren’t tied together, they were severely deformed. Instead of being straight, her legs and antennae were all bent and squiggly. I made the decision to put him down as her life was clearly not enjoyable for her. I then proceeded to give the queen and ...

Re: Test Tube Width
Her other, disabled worker is still very alive, appearing to struggle to try to free it’s legs whenever I take a peak. Is it even humane to leave it in there, is it worth trying to free him with tweezers?

Re: Test Tube Width
I just checked on the queen today and she had many larva one pupa and the disabled worker ant. Her gaster is also huge! The worker was still moving it’s antennae and legs but was curled on its back. Unlike before, the worker was now placed next to the cotton wall stopper far away from the queen ant....

Re: Test Tube Width
I will do that next time! This time I put in a drop of honey on a toothpick. The drop was bigger than I intended and I expected to have to clean up the excess. I kept the drawer she was in cracked and checked on her every 30 or so minutes. She had her head in the honey excitedly moving her antennae....

Re: Test Tube Width
I fed her a drop of honey on the end of a toothpick! Should I use this as en opportunity to move the queen to a fresh larger test tube. Should I remove the worker? She is happily eating the honey. What should I do with the left over honey? Dry it up?
