I second this, This book tought be a lot of things such as the how to deferenciate between Formica and Camponotus by looking at the thorax just as an example.

So it took me some time but finally got the 3d printer working, time to make some ac testube connectors so I canno buy a 20 pack for 4 bucks. BTW does anyone know any other good 3d prints to print?

I dont know why because I never kept them but Formica dont seem to get a lto of love compared to camponotus maybe just becasue of their size?

I have never encouraged keeping queens in a polygynous setup as it can be harmful to the queens. However, almost every ant youtuber I've seen has their Atta colony with multiple queens. Would this increase their survival because there would be more fungus pellets or would this decrease survival bec...

I believe she is Lasius claviger - a parasitic species. Oh~ Darn! Does that mean she needs a colony to take over? But that means she can only take a specific species right? I have a dying carpenter ant colony, pennsylvanicus I think. The queen died at over 3 years old, and I was heartbroken, but if...

I fed my 4 worker camponotus colony a big drop of honey and they were pretty fast to find it. However this morning I saw a drowned worker in the honey, I thought larg species like camponotus dont have to worry about this much... should have offered less honey or maybe added some substrate fro them ...
