Re: Moving and first feeding questions.
She has about 2 cocoons, 2 pupas, and (about) 13 eggs. But I can get the test tube I want them to move too close to them, so they won't have to move far. Whatever I feed them, how should I prepare it, should I crush It? Also, how long would you say it can take for them to move? As always, all answer...

Moving and first feeding questions.
First, can my queen and her one worker move all by themselves? I plan to move them from my homemade test tube to an AC test tube hooked up to a Test Tube Portal. Do I need more workers? I have been feeding them drops of honey, but when do I feed them a bug? I was thinking Meal Worms. Is that a good ...

Mold in test tube.
My test tube has a little mold on the cotton that is holding the water, is this a big problem? And if so, should I move them? My queen has one worker with her, so does that mean they could move? Any help will be much appreciated

Test tube portal questions.
After moving my colony into a Portal setup would it be ok to keep them on my ant table, not in a dark place? And would it be a good idea to put a cloth over the test tube? To make them feel more comfortable. And is putting a little dirt in the portal a bad idea, and if not, what are the benefits? An...

Moving colony after first nanitics into an AC tube.
Would it be a bad idea to move a queen and her first nanitics into an AC test tube? I have them in a plastic test tube that won't fit into the test tube portal I'm getting. If yes, how long should I wait before moving them?

Re: New queen, have questions.
I'm not doing heat because I don't have a heat cable, but if you have any pro tips for a new ant keeper, that would be great, thanks for the help.

Looking for Newhampshire sellers.
At first, I went through the GAN project, but the person I got in contact with didn't have any ants to sell, so if you live in NH ( preferably near concord) and have a queen and some brood to sell. I am willing to get in contact. A side note, I do have a queen I caught in my backyard, but I don't kn...

The space between the two cotton balls is about 5 inches. I can push the plug cotton ball in farther if that will make any difference. Thanks for the help.
