Re: Aphaenogaster Help.

I have a Aphaenogaster rudis colony with three workers in a THA mini hearth. The question I have is how should I feed them a sugar source that the workers can take back to the nest, so that the queen does not have to come up? Also, do all Apaenogaster ants lack a social stomachs or just rudis? Most...

Re: Mold infestation and brood died

Thanks! Here's a picture: https://twitter.com/carlosrbecker/status/1551236096654188548?s=20&t=9zBRuW8yQJN2AVAc4L_yFQ Ya, I would say Formica because she seems to be larger than Lasius but either way both are fully claustral so they fast during the founding stage. If you could tell us the size that ...

Re: Mold infestation and brood died

Thank you! We were hoping someone would say that! We started feeding her since she's likely starving. We gave her some honey and a fruit fly and she gobbled both up in record time. We were careful and used a small piece of aluminium foil, and only gave her a pinhead of honey. We'll feed her again t...

This is the game or what's going on because I'm new here and I don't really know what's going on
You post words that get blocked by the filter on this topic, so they can fix it. If you have any ant questions you should make a new topic in what ever forum fits your topic. Hope this helps! :D

When a Camponotus queen gets her first nanitic, you feed them a week after right?
You could try it sooner but most of the time the won't except food until a week.

Ok did some more research and my initial guess was wrong, apparently the ones I caught are pavement ants. Tetramorium caespitum. Sorry for the miss information. 😥
Don't worry you'll get better at iding as you keep ants for longer, Tetramorium is a great beginner species and a lot of fun to keep!
