Thanks for your reply,
right now I do not have any clean up creatures. I want to get some, but my current ant is a harvester ant that requires pretty dry setup.
I'm not sure how springtails would survive in such a dry area.
I'll give it some thought.

Formicarium change once a year?
Hello, Have a harvester ant colony in a 2n1 Ant tower large. I read that the recommendation is to change out their nest area once a year. For natural ones not so often. Is the 2n1 Ant Tower in the first category? Or is because it uses their natural dirt and they have an outworld I do not need to cha...

Thank you for the reply,
I hope so, I just got worried as it was in the "Trash" dump area and out of the nest.

Worker attacking queen?
Hi, I have a newly formed colony of Pogonomyrmex. Since June/july. They are in a large ant tower and have access to an outworld. I have a extra tube with cotton and water for water, which they also use for trash dump (easy for me!) However, the other day I noticed one ant trying to drag my queen (80...

Hi,
Thank you for your response.
Just to clarify, you mean to keep the water trough half full correct?

Ant tower large watering question and Pogonomyrmex
Hi, I have a Pogonomyrmex queen, who now has about 8-9 workers. I have an Ant Tower large. I understand the basics of the tower, the water trough in question. Last time I filled it, it saturated the dirt way to much, and I believe Pogo need around 15-25% humidity in the nest for seed storage. What i...

Ok thank you!!
Yah, I would assume the males will be more numerous soon, it's just now I saw these.
