I found a random moth on my window, I guess its my lucky day. I split it up and now the colonies especially the C. novaeboracensis are ripping into the carcass pieces.

Where I live it is early spring and no bugs are out yet, however my ants are out of hibernation and need protein. I have tried a sunflower seed and my tetramorium liked it but my 3 camponotus colonies didn´t care at all. So I am wondering what protein source to give to my ants because I do not have ...

Moving ants
Anyone know any tips for moving Camponotus because mine do not seem botheredby light and i cannot do heat very well and no matter how moldy the setup is or how little water there is they will not move.

You are in America correct? If so you did not catch Lasius niger but rather Lasius neoniger which are known to hibernate then lay eggs in the spring.
