I know a formiculture user named “Manitobot”(May be wrong) who lives there. Formiculture has many Canadian Antkeepers, so you may want to try there.

Re: New Queen ID Please
My cat found this beauty in the bedroom this morning. Just had some storms roll through during the night. Looks like pavement ant or fire ant. Dark brown to black, whitish stripe on the gaster, very thin waist with bumps. About 3/8 inch long? Thanks for looking. https://i.imgur.com/5FbKfmN.jpg http...

Re: Brood boosting carpenter ant queens?
Absolutely. Some may just be too close to hatching, so the queen may recognize them as a worker and kill them. Typically I take cocoons that look very new, so it’s like her larvae spun cocoons. That way, they have more time to gain the colony scent.

Re: I need help with my Camponotus parius colony.
Alright. It must have been so scary when the workers turned on each other. Especially when the infertile queen almost(alate that shed wings) almost got to the fertile queen. I separated them, and found a way to introduce them back to each other, and added 2 queens from wild colonies. My journey of ...

Re: I need assistance with my Pseudoneoponera.
Damm, I don't know of my P. rufipes queen keeps eating her eggs, but their taking a long time to incubate. No larvae yet, and my other P. rufipes queen hasn't started laying yet. How long has it taken? My Odontomachus queens take 3 months for eggs to hatch without heat. Well, I have had her since J...

Re: I need help with my Camponotus parius colony.
I'm sorry if all these updates are getting annoying and maybe I'm looking at this a bit too deep, but my queen decided to take some brood with her and go live in a corner of the out world. The out world I have for them is literally just supposed to be a feeding place and garbage disposal place for ...

Re: Lasius niger colony seems to be not growing at all
So it's been about a month and a half and I have noticed a few larvae have pupated and turned into adult ants, and a few more larvae have darkened, however the thing I'm interested in now is why there has been a very large egg pile building up, however none of them are hatching into larvae. I've go...

Re: Test Tube Width
I know you’ve already answered this, but as it’s forth of July, my dog will likely bark, constantly. is there something I should do to keep it from bothering her, or will repeated (VERY loud) barking not bother her very much. Thanks! Oh, I see. Maybe wrap her in a cloth, and you can also use styrof...

Still waiting for Camponotus Americanus flights. Anybody caught any queens yet or do they typically fly in fall?
