It's not I have a campo nova queen and she's easy twice the size.
34 mm? Camponotus gigas queens aren’t that size. Campo nova queens are 17mm…(Your saying it’s not Campo nova, right?)

Re: A possible queen ant!

Yeah, but I thought she was a queen because she was alone but she was probably just foraging. Well if I see the same kind of ants then it will be confermed. Maybe go to the AntsCanada Youtube channel and then, search how to identify queen ants. That’s not a great way… base it off behavior, for clau...

Re: Crematogaster cerasi set-up question for beginner

Hi. In late August/21 I caught a crematogaster cerasi queen and placed her in a 15x150mm test tube. Finally, she has 5-10 workers, some eggs and larvae. The water supply in the test tube is bone dry since she’s been in there for so long. I’ve been using a dropper to saturate the cotton ball in the ...

Oh, okay. Thank you.
Where do you usually buy supplies for ants?
I bought a few AusAnt nests, but it took 6 months to arrive. Tar Heel ants is good if you don’t make it too special and if you get the already made formicarium it doesn’t take very long to arrive

Re: Nest Moving

I plan on getting a camponotus maritimus queen. I was wondering, at what size should I move them to a new area? And, where should I move them? To a tower, or? 15 workers in Camponotus is when I move mine into a bigger tube or nest. You can move them to a new nest as small as six nantics… I prefer n...

Re: My back garden ants nesting??

Hello, I recently repotted my oak tree into a bigger pot and the ants seem like they're moving into it. I not 100% sure but it looks like they're covering it with dirt. I want to know if they are and if I can do something to stop it without killing them. Thanks Sam If it is in a pot, you could find...

Re: Dont give up

Don't stress it too much dude, sometimes it can be really frustrating if a colony doesn't succeed. I guess you could try to find a different queen species which would have much more survival rate like lasius. Also i would suggest that if you ever get some workers, try giving them more protein than ...

May 17, 2022 After 1 week, she finally accepted the sugar water, but something happened. She only has 4 eggs. 1 week ago, she had six eggs but now, she only has 4 eggs. I did leave her alone for a very long time maybe she lost 2 of them. She lays infertile eggs to give to the larvae to eat… maybe s...
