There are small pieces in the end of her test tubre

I will cover her back up then because the mold is on food scraps that she has left on the other side of the test tube.

I had a go getting some better pictures but I couldn’t get a good focus, I have added some more pictures even though they aren’t that good, don’t worry if you can’t identify it.

I caught this queen on the 25th of July in the UK and I thought she was a Formica fusca. Now she is hibernating with her first workers, but she has still got her brood and they are all rather active when I check on them (they are kept at 8 degrees centigrade). I have a myrmica rubra queen that I caught on the 22 August and she hasn’t got any workers yet, I think there are some larvae ore pupae but it is difficult to tell because she has covered her cotton in sand. Should I hibernate her now or wait until her first workers?
