The is mold in my m.rubra a test tube, she is in a tub and tube setup I have placed a clean test tube in the tub wich is covered and left her current moldy tube uncovered. I caught this queen on the 25th of July in the UK and I thought she was a Formica fusca. Now she is hibernating with her first workers, but she has still got her brood and they are all rather active when I check on them (they are kept at 8 degrees centigrade). No workers should I hibernate?
I have a myrmica rubra queen that I caught on the 22 August and she hasn’t got any workers yet, I think there are some larvae ore pupae but it is difficult to tell because she has covered her cotton in sand. Should I hibernate her now or wait until her first workers?
