Re: My ants want to move to the wrong place!

What species? Some will do this because they are ok with light, or the humidity is too high/low, temperature too high etc They are Solenopsis Invicta, and I think the humidity is ok, I mean, yesterday they were in the queen chamber and I don't think it could dry so fast, the temperature is average ...

Re: Queen sisters

That is great!! This is like a 70 chance they are mated… unless they were bathed in sand. I don't think they can be drenched in sand, here where I live the ground gets very hard and the only places where there is sand are on the beaches. It also doesn't look very dirty If they were drench in sand, i...

Re: Queen sisters

If they are cleaning their gaster good sign… another good sign is that you saw more males than alates when catching them, but this is uncommon during day. Queen alates that can still fly can still have a chance to be mated and found a colony and vice versa. The truth is, there is no absolute way to determine if your queen...

Re: Queen sisters

Out of experience there is a few possibility’s that could happen 1) They are southern fire ants, which are usually not polygynoes and the workers will eliminate all queens until one remains(S. Invicta will have back markings) 2) they will peacefully raise their brood and then kill each other 3)The ...
