Date and location of capture, 2017-07-04 Portugal, in the shadow of street, near some crematogaster ants (might be coincidence). RSRBoDLJBZ8 I asked on a facebook forum ...

"Can be kept at room temperature, but they prefer higher temperatures, around 25 – 30 degrees Celcius"
That's why I thought I had the better conditions for them.

Aww drat, I want to mean nanitics at title, not eggs.
They already have born ants, while all my queen ants have only brood.
I know they will be late boomers, but was wondering if it was because the conditions I provided them?

Re: Weird Queen Ant behavior...
How did you block the tube?
Cotton lets your ant breath.
If you use the tube cap it can prevent oxygen to go to your queen.

Re: Ants getting stuck in cotton
I use the back of a pencil to push the cotton to the water, that way the cotton is flat with less strings loose to entangle the ants.

First Egg Messor Barbarus

I'm guessing in waiting for it to born and give some food, maybe later relocate them to a bigger (still sm...
