Should have grabbed her in my hands and begged my bosses to give me something to keep her in. No luck since that single sighting.

But was she the last for the year?

I just ate my words and my heart about 30 minutes ago. Who should I see crawling on the pavement but a queen, size and color indicating none other than the Lasius neoniger.

And here I am with another 5 hours on my shift and nothing to put her in. So now she is gone.

How are you people finding these when everywhere I look is just workers?

Well most Lasius won't lay they're eggs until the coming spring so I can't imagine it'd be horrible...

I went hunting today. Nothing. I can't do more hunting because I have work. I think I missed my chance for the year...

Very rarely do diseases cross species, especially such vastly different ones. It's not like mosquitoes injecting malaria.
