2 April 2023 Queen still hasn't laid any eggs. I have been feeding them only mosquitos i killed and they do eat it and i frequently see one or two workers foraging at night. Yeah.. Idk if it helps, but in the video at 1:36, he finds a cataglyphis nodus colony and tells a bit about them. Basically he says that these ants can not climb well and should be given large flat outworlds and also the are very fast and can 'glide' through air if they fall

I think any light would work unless you are keeping them in a terrarium. If they are just in a formicarium attached with an outworld, you can keep them in your room where the room lights will be sufficient for the lighting and naturally the lights would be off at night so everything will work out fine

Camponotus modoc is my guess. I cant see much colours in the photo but you can also see camponotus novaeboracensis

I think these are lasius species (l. niger or l. neoniger)
And there are other few species whi can 'bypass incestual law' but i dont know their names. I think one of them are from genus tetramorium but i could be wrong

I think when you see significant amount of mold on the cotton, you should replace it. I have heard coco fiber doesn't mold easily so you should use that
