I have thought that i can use those small ice cream cups and fill them with soil and plant some things that can have mealybugs or aphids to feed them so hopefully i dont have to do alot of fee...

Re: Oklahoma Mated Elates Captured
They are either solenopsis invicta or solenopsis geminata. I'm not good at differentiating them so you might have to do the final identification (or someone else more capable than me can help)

Re: Starting a colony
You should put a moist paper towel ball or a moist cotton ball so she can drink
If she lays eggs in the cup, you can first move her into the test tube and then using a moist small paintbrush, gently scoop the eggs and place them in the test tube

Re: Will My Colony Rally?
The easiest solution to this is attaching a small outworld to the test tube and connect it via a tube or a connector that is big enough that the ants can go through but tight enough that they cant bring the mealworm back. 1)Some of the ways to make this is you can use a fitting tube to connect both ...

Re: Can ants eat alive bugs?
Yeah you can give them that. You can try with alot of things and see what they will eat because ants can be picky eaters. Try feeding them different fruits and nuts and see which one they like the most.

Re: Can ants eat alive bugs?
They will have to kill the bug first in order to eat it. It is preferred to give them dead insects to eat because sometimes if the alive insect is strong it can put up a good fight and actually harm alot of the ants that were trying to kill it
