Crematogaster colony will not move out of wood!
I found a Crematogaster colony with alates and brood. They live in a small log and I placed them in an open ant farm because the log is to long to fit inside with the lid on. I have to keep them outside for the time being and there is a larger invasive colony were they are that sometimes gets a litt...

I had to let go of the only food for my ant colony!
I had to let go the only cricket I had for my ant colony in the future, so does anyone know how to find more and other insects like mealworms. The only reason I don't go to the pet store is because I don't want to let go of my ant colony and be stuck with non-native crickets or locusts that I cant r...

Cricket keeping?
Will my formica subsericea eat camel crickets? I found one and I think I might find some more, so any tips on keeping camel crickets or if my ants will eat them is appreciated.

Re: How to heat my ant colony if I don't have a heating pad.
Anything else? The only reason I want to heat my colony is so they can get more workers when they come out of hibernation.

How to heat my ant colony if I don't have a heating pad.
I don't have a heating pad but I have a formica subsericea colony and I know they do better in warmer temperatures than in room temperature, so if I don't have a heating pad what is an alternative?

Re: They are in the storage room now.
It gets around 20-10 Celsius this week during the day along with next week, and 11-4 Celsius during the night and next week. In the evening the storage room gets somewhere around 70-76 Fahrenheit but because I cant check the temperature at the night I can only guess it gets 11-4 Celsius during the n...

Re: They are in the storage room now.
Apparently the storage room they are in is a little over room temp during night time and cold during the day. Is this okay?
