Re: I don't know if I caught a queen or not?!?

Bees have no joints on their antenna while ants have one joint on their antenna. Yours have a straight antenna so it is an bee or wasp kind of insect.

Re: All of my ants in a nutshell

Guys, i am proud to say my lasius neonigers eggs has finally hatched. I think the reason they didnt hatch was because the room in which i kept them was too hot and stuffy for egg development. The reason I believe that is because 3-5 days after i moved them to a cooler room, the 3-4 eggs hatched almo...

Is she infertile? :(

My lasius neoniger queen has been past the 2 month landmark and none of her eggs have hatched. So here is what i got from my research: Could she be a lasius flavus? I heard they both look similar and lasius flavus take a longer time to develop. I also found her in a lasius flavus nest. However, at f...

My God help my queen :(

As i was moving my ants, the lighting i used was meant to help encourage my queen to the new test tube. However, my queen dug INTO the Colten blocking the water reservoir in the old test tube. Even thought he water was almost all gone, the water was still enough to flood the test tube. I will admit ...

Help! My queen has abandoned eggs!

I hade to move my queen into a new test tube due to water depletion. So i used the Ants Australia technique and move them in by connecting the test tubes and used a magazine to cover one test tube while exposing the other one to light. This morning i checked up on her and she had successfully moved ...

Re: Myrmica elates

They wont mate inside the nest. If the queens are unable to mate (the males die very soon), they will begin to act like workers.

When will her eggs hatch?!?!

Okay. This is getting ridiculous. It had been 9-10 days and my lasius neoniger queen’s eggs still didn't hatch. What is wrong with her since the care sheet said only around 8 days.
