Re: Prenolepis Imparis Journal

Idk if this can work for you. But if you have a lamp that produces heat, then you can position them under it. You can open it maybe 1-3 hours a day. This may help keep the queen warm but not to warm (maybe like 1-2 celsius above freezing)

Re: What I do now!?

Oh okay. Then the best thing will be to wait. However, make sure her last ant survives. She would have burned through the last of her body fat by now and queens can't forage. Keep them warm but not hot and feed them 1-2 time a week with honey and protein.

Re: What I do now!?

Hmmm. Then why isn’t your eggs hatching to replace the dead workers? Is it too cold or hot for proper egg development? That’s what happened to my lasius neoniger before I changed their temperature gradient…

I love how people are talking about hen on an ant forum. (I have nothing against you)
It really gives it some variety lol

Re: What I do now!?

It’s okay. Solonopis ants can grow very fast. But I’m not sure what they are doing in your foraging area… you can try to move them back via, light or heat. If she is really stubborn, just gently grab her (if she stings then do it with a piece of paper) and the worker and plop them into a test tube. ...
