Super small queen?

Found this queen a few months ago on my mulch. I live in Maryland. The workers are 2mm, yellowish in color and almost clear with pointed abdomens. The queen is 4mm and black. http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p386/MLGme/IMG_3299_zpsk5bcib2t.jpg Thanks! This is the only picture I could get because o...

Queen me

Queen I've never seen before. Caught in a wooded area in Maryland in early May. The queen has a reddish tint and is about 8mm. The worker is 4mm. Both have bands on their abdomens. http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p386/MLGme/IMG_3234_zpsmitwoszr.jpg http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p386/MLGme/IM...

Maryland Queen

I found this massive queen under a rock in my back yard. http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p386/MLGme/image_zpso8p4qtbg.jpg http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p386/MLGme/image_zpsmzth00id.jpg A little over half an inch long. It has dark coloring on the top with orange on the bottom. I'm thinking so...

I think it's Aphaenogaster sp.
