That happened to me with a tetramorium queen and I had to wait till she had workers they were the ones who pulled the head of her Gaster yes the ant was biting the queens gaster but she survived

That looks like a Camponotes pencilvanicis Queen

I suffered the same fate but 3 years later I manged to catch a formica queen which is this year I can,t take her home in Florida but I can keep her here ant tell my aunt to take care of her

They are great until you can contain them that is how I lost my colony
