Help ID Queen - British Columbia June 1st
Hello everyone. I'd like some help IDing a queen I found on June 1st in Vancouver British Columbia. When I found her, she still had wings but shed them very quickly after capture. She is quite big. Body length is 15mm. https://images2.imgbox.com/de/97/tmVxrbG6_o.jpg https://images2.imgbox.com/c5/74/...

I've tried...

Re: Lasius sp?
Oh and one more question. My colony doesn't seem to want or need any sugars. I've tried honey, maple syrup and plain sugar water but I never see them drinking any of them. In fact they seem to make a point to throw their trash into the foil plate with the drops of sugar and then it becomes a petri d...

Lasius sp?
I'm new to this and the identification guides use a lot of weird terms for ant body parts. Is this Lasius Alienus? Queen caught June in Vancouver BC Canada. https://i.imgur.com/sHyyhmC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3ElqkxS.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ds7pcn0.jpg Lately they have been wrapping the pupa in cott...
