Yes, the fridge will be perfect. I would say for the colony that's in the wood should just be left outside and they should be fine. yea I would definitely say to heat up the tube to get it soft then try to squeeze it through the hole. It will be a tight fit.

I would honestly just tap her in another test tube or that setup you were talking about if she is not moving. High stress but only for a short period of time is better than low stress for a long period of time.

But you can keep basically any ant species in a desert environment, it doesn't really matter if what environment you use for ants

No species do not hibernate unless you live in the tropics

If you can't purchase any equipment for ants you can always make your own or use the "tubs and tubes method" for keeping your ants. But don't worry about that, for now, you should only move them when they least have 20 or so workers. I would also recommend you keeping them in the test tube for the 1...

That should work, just keep an eye on them and if it doesn't you can also try baby powder mixed with rubbing alcohol. If none of that doesn't work you can also buy PTFE.
