I put them in a rubbermade bin half filled with soil. I put a test tube with water to serve as hydration. Are there anything else I sho...

Carebara Queen

Help! Before, my Carebara queen had a large batch of eggs but when I tried to look awhile ago, only a smaller part of that batch was seen. I don't know where she put it or whether she ate it. Any of you have any input or suggestions? And if she did eat them, will she lay eggs again some other time? ...

Black Crazy Ants

Hey there! So I just discovered that a large colony of black crazy ants relocated their nest INSIDE MY AIRCONDITIONER! Like is that normal? And can they even survive in a cold place? Thanks!!!

Re: Ant Identification (Manila, Philippines) caught July 12

Might be Pheidole or presently referred to as Carabara sp. But can only be a Solenopsis cause of the fact you said that they were relocating their colony. Carabara sp. don't relocate really.

Hope it is Carabara. :D I caught mine a few days ago here in Batangas City. :D

Re: Queen ant ID (Singapore)

Hahaha. I caught one the other day too! Luckily, mine is still alive but she still hasnt laid any eggs yet. Hope she does soon enough.

Tip: Put her in a big and wide test tube and then put some soil inside because they like to be under the soil. :D

(now called carebara) queen yesterday morning and when she was in my normal test tube setup, she stayed near the water source but then later that night, she was cotton pulling. Do you guys have any suggestions on what kind of setup will be most applicable for he...
