A few questions about setup and food/water supply
Hi everyone :) My tetramorium colony has finally grown enough to be moved into a formicarium and so I've done that. As of now, I have placed a small piece of grape, a small piece of almond, and a scrap of chicken for them to find and work with for food, but I'm lost for what I should provide for wat...

Re: Bad odor from test tube normal?
I believe the smell is caused by anaerobic microorganisms living in the tube and feeding on whatever organic matter came through in the water or the cotton. This usually isn't harmful unless the water was really impure (i.e. something foolish like honey is added), but it might be a good indication ...

Bad odor from test tube normal?
Hello everyone :) I was checking on my tetramorium colony today, cleaning their mini outworld and all that and I noticed a pretty bad smell coming from the tube setup they're in. Of course smell is subjective, but does anyone else normally get these bad odors from their setups? It's probably just fr...

Re: Time for processing?
Good evening, I recently ordered an omni nest for my ants in preparation for the future. I'm just wondering how long it takes for my order to pass the processing stage on the "My account" section on the homepage. It's been a few days and there still hasn't been any word about it. No rush though, I ...

Re: Urgent question, honey spread onto brood
I would wet a q-tip try and gently spread the honey as thin as possible against the glass of the test tube and then let the nantics and queen get the brood out themselves without getting stuck. Just hope the drop of Honey wasn't too big so that the watered-down Q-tip can spread it real thin. Thanks...

Urgent question, honey spread onto brood
Hello everyone, I was checking on one of my test tube setups with nanitics that I had given a drop of honey and noticed that the honey dripped all the way down the tube and came into contact with the brood. I think I may have placed the tube on a slightly uneven surface without noticing. I quickly w...

Ant twitching?
Hello,
I was checking on one of my ants and I noticed some twitching going on in all of its legs. Is this a normal thing or has something bad happened to it?

Two Tetramorium sp. queens?
Good afternoon everyone, I caught these two potential queens this afternoon, both around 4 pm EST, July 4th. EDIT - Sorry, forgot to mention I'm in Waterloo, Ontario. They both measure approximately 8-10 mm long. Sorry for the quality, I only have my phone to work with. If better pictures are needed...
