After googling some formica types I actually think it is formica rufibarbis now because after what I saw it looked really similar to the queen I caught. Even if it isn't rufibarbis I can be certain now that it is formica so again thanks for your help!

Thank you! Actually I googled before asking in the forum. The two species I found to be most similar looking to this queen were formica sanguinea and camponotus ligniperdus. In my view the movement of the workers looked rather zigzaggy but to be sure I made a video (btw sorry for the bad quality). I...

Hello expienced ant keepers, I live in the north of Germany and on the 14th July 2020 I found a queen ant of a species I never saw until then (at least queens). The queen is a bit larger than lasius niger queens (a bit more than 1cm) and has a different color (red/brown). I would be glad very much ...
