Well first i would put them in a testtube in the dark with water and leave them and see in about week if any have laid eggs.

Hard to tell species from thoses pictures, but there are plenty of sites on line that will help you with that.

ONe thing I have lernt about ants is they dont like to be disterbed. for a more uptodate image, quility is not good as its looking though dirty glass and hard to focus but you can see Queen on brood and at least one little one.

Hi What is going on here the black ants looked to be starting nuptial flight but way are the yellow ants surrounding them? Far fewer in number and did not look to be attacking or being attacked.
