Re: Welcome to the Camponotus Crew!

Hello! I am very amazed at how GI-ANT this topic has become! I am a new ant keeper, and I am currently caring for 8 black garden ant queens (lasius niger), 2 tapinoma sessile queens, and ONE camponotus vicinus queen. What non-bug protein sources have you guys have found successful? I am fine with fe...

Re: Forelius Clan

Of course, you can join! Anyone is welcome :) I have tried some small pieces of ham and they seem to like it. Whenever my stepmom cooks chicken, she usually gives me a small piece and they also seem to enjoy. Head over to the Camponotus Crew (A little more active than this one) and you can ask ther...

Re: Forelius Clan

Hello! Forelia Update: I have put some heat next to their tube and they started moving brood right next to the heat and then all of a sudden the queen is right next to the heat too. I am expecting another 4 to 7 workers in the next month or so, especially after the great protein source I gave them....

Re: Please Help!!-- Queen Behavior

Update: I just checked on her again, and she seemed to be in the same position, just now her head was in the "normal position"-- She wasn't holding up the larvae any more. what I did notice was that she had eaten one of her larvae! This is very disappointing, because she has already restarted ...

Hello! First of all, Thank you for reading this! I have a Camponotus Vicinus Queen who is acting... Strange. Re: Tapinoma Sessile Journal (First try at ant keeping)

Hi! Sorry, I kind of gave up on this Topic! Now, a LOT has happened! First of all, the worker ant has died, and only the 2 queens remain :( I gave them a small folded up piece of tinfoil with some honey, and currently they have laid their EGGS directly on the honey! --- Is this bad for them??? Also,...

Re: Antnests c. pennsylvanicus journal

Hi! I just read the journal, and I have started keeping a Camponotus queen myself!-- she is progressing rather slowly, and I don't think she will have any workers before hibernation. Could you give me a few more details about how you hiberated them? I think everyone is also looking forward to an upd...
