Re: I have escapees! Help!

Personally, I think they are wild ants living in your house or something of the like. Try to get a photo of one of the maybe escapees so we can see if they are the same species.

Re: I have escapees! Help!

I can't think of where they would be getting out from... Are you sure they are the same ants and not just some other wild ones?
Also I noticed the dirt is really dry, I would suggest adding some moisture to the nest. How's the queen doing, still there right?
Nice pictures and setup btw.

I would not put lemons in the enclosure, the ants will eat them, and then die because citrus fruits are toxic to ants.
Could I ask where you have gotten this notion?

Re: I have escapees! Help!

A few images would be very helpfull, preferably images of different angles. Maybe you should put a glass tank (or some other container) over them until further notice. How are you dealling with the escapees? Don't forget to stay calm and good luck!

Re: Queen ant identification

The photos are a bit fuzzy, could you try taking some from the entrance? Also, can you see wing scars?

Re: Ant Interview Research

A1: Carpenter ants are fairly easy to keep for the simple reason that they grow slowly. They can tunnel into a large amount of substances, so you will need to consider that fact. A2: A great tip that even some expirienced keepers forget (or ignore) is that you should never move your ants into a setu...

Re: posting my mistake so others dont make it

This also happened to me about 3 days ago. I found two workers stuck in the honey. I got them out with a needle and washed them off. They where fine after a bit lol. The honey had been in there for a while without any issues, guess some of its water evaporated. I got rid of the honey, guess I can wa...

Re: READ BEFORE POSTING === Ant ID Template ===

You can't put multiple prenolepis queens together, they will kill each other. They will grow relatively slow.
