Re: Can queens restart a colony?

Loads of information is better than none!!! I gave her some crushed fruit flies, a small amount of honey, and I have left her tube since then, I plan to check it on the 14th of August and see if there is any luck/progress and I will post any news here

Re: SOS my colony is dying

Ive just recently caught lasius niger queens, They are very very skittish from what I have seen, best thing to do is make sure its roughly 20c, don't expose them to light, or vibrations, I accidently tapped my shelf and seen them all freak out, they are fully claustral, so once you put them in a set...

Re: Do vibrations hurt queen ants?

Something you can try is to use two kitchen towels, or smaller similar things and place the test tube or other set up on top of it, assuming it isn't heavy, a majority of the vibrations from physical object will be lessened, sadly can't do much about the air vibrations.

Also Yeah I tried it with tinfoil, it took a bit of a laugh getting it in, bu...

Re: Can queens restart a colony?

Man that's a lot of info but its extremely useful. I am definitely worried about stressing her through trying to feed her, but it is good to know it isn't impossible to have her restart. Do you suggest crushing fruit flies, or do you think it would be better to go with a bigger fly and crush that? I...
