Ants suffocating?
I’ve moved my ants into a new plaster formicarium, and the next day, I saw a few dead.
I don’t know the exact cause but maybe they are trying to dig? I’m considering releasing them before they all die . Please help I don’t know what’s happening and what to do.

Re: New Zealand nuptial flights
Hi I'm in Australia (right next to you guys!). I'm so thrilled to hear that nuptial flights are occurring, because that means I'll see them soon too!
Edit: I would have gone to ant keeping depot to get stuff but due to COVID I don't think it's safe. I will see what I can find

Re: Best escape prevention?
Ok, how long does it last, and will you need to evacuate the ants every time you reapply it (if you need to at all)?

Re: Toronto June/July Queen Ant Identification Help Please
It’s build is very similar to Camponotus aenopilosus so I’m guessing it’s Camponotus. I don’t think we get the other species in Australia so I can’t be sure.

Re: Toronto June/July Queen Ant Identification Help Please
Thank you for actually bothering to show an image. I think you’re right about the Camponotus. The stocky build and the size. Hope I was right.

Hello from NSW, Australia
I am a new ant keeper in Australia and I’m really looking forward to joining the ant keeping community. I already have 1 colony (new) and I am enjoying the hobby.
