Re: Queen becoming unferilized

She's probably out of protein. The colony should have had a foraging space soon after the workers eclosed. Good luck. What all should I be feeding her for protein? I have been trying to give her small bits of steak and all of the nice meats that we eat in our house but IDK if she eats them. I rarel...

Queen becoming unferilized

I had a queen that has been in a test tube for a long time now and she has laid 6 eggs over this large period of time all 6 hatched. Sadly I lost 4 of these workers to honey as I did not know they would get stuck and all die in it. I needed to feed them as the period of time is over a year rotating ...

Since there aren't two petiole nodes, this must be Tapinoma sessile.
My fault. They entirely skipped my mind. :?

Identify and help

I don't know if I should put this in identification or not, but most of my questions are not about the species so I figured I should put it here. I just snagged this colony out of a plant pot and I was wondering what type it is. I live in Eugene Oregon U.S. there seem to be two types of workers, the...

Re: Obviously doing something wrong

The problem is I play a club sport all year round and then 2 sports during the summer and with school I do not have all of the time in the world. I see Mikey's videos and he walks like 10 feet from his house and finds a queen, and by the end of a less than one hour walk he has 10+. Once they fly and...

Obviously doing something wrong

Well as another and season is coming around I have realized I am doing something wrong...... I am the only one actively pursuing this ant hobby but I am the only one in my house of 4 that hasn't found a queen ant...... :( My dad found a tiny queen last year that I still haven't been able to identify...

Wow, and to think one queen did all of that. One proud mother.

Re: !!!!URGENT!!!

sorry for the off topic. Hope she comes good. Could it be dehydration? How did you make your test tube holder? Looks like a good idea. She had lots of water, but the tube holder was actually quite easy to make. I first just measured the diameter of the test tubes and multiplied that by three. For m...
