Re: My Camponotus Vicinus queen
I finally checked up on her today. She seems to be happy, but she only laid 1 egg. There may have been another, but I didn’t look closely. Is this normal?

Re: New fire ant queen!
At this point, the colonies brood reaches the end of the test tube, and that’s in only 52 days (7 weeks and 3 days). Solenopsis sp grows so fast! I’m wondering about what nest to get them, though, any recommendations?

Lol ok! I forgot about this, and didn’t post lol. Anyway, they have 50-80 or so workers, and I gave them a whole cockroach yesterday (it was exactly the size of the feeding space in the AC test tube portal). Re: My Camponotus Vicinus queen
I’m not sure. The wait is probably like the only bad part of keeping these girls, but she seemed happy yesterday, when I finally checked on her. She had a couple eggs, although I’m not sure. I’ll post pics once my clip on macro lenses arrive!

My Camponotus Vicinus queen
I decided to keep a journal of my new campo queen. Super excited! I gave her a tiny drop of honey to boost her a little. Really hope she starts a colony!

hybrid nest exchange
I'm not sure if this is the right section.
I bought a AC Solenopsis Hybrid nest, but now I caught Camponotus and would like to know whether i can return the solenopsis version for the camponotus. All equipment is still intact and unused

Maybe Formica? I’d say Camponotus but she seems too small to be one..

Re: AntsCanada WeaverAnts Question
Yeah. P. Longicornis is t native to Texas, but Nylanderia is. I’m not sure how well olive oil works.
