If you than go to images and select species, you will get a list filled with pictures of every species. (see picture) https://g...

Re: Queen ant sizes

If you know what species you are looking for, than you should take a look at antwiki. There usually is a picture from the queen of the species with a scale. This way you can figure out the size of the queen. You can also take a look at antweb, search your species, set it on queens only. There you wi...

But when I put her together with ants of l. niger or l. flavus, she didn't act like a parasite and would stand in a corner av...

*google translate intensifies*
Hahaha Dutch is such an irregular language compared to English that I wouldn't be surprised that Google would translate it into gibberish
Google translate works well if you translate to dutch, but when you try German everything goes gibberish.

Re: identification formica spiecies

the difference between rufa and polyctena is that rufa has small hair visible with the eye, polyctena hairs are not visible without zoom in. since you are dutch: rufa = behaarde bosmier en polyctena = kale bosmier.

She might be a lasius fuliginosus queen, try to compare them yourself since the pictures are blurry. These have a small gastur since they are parasitic.
