Re: How often should I water my small AC Tower?

I think there is enough space for the cotton balls.. I did use this technique on my hybrid nest and it worked well. I will try it with the ant tower and see how it goes. Thanks!

Re: Small Ant Tower and RIFA

@NKantsalberta Oh man this is a great idea! I can easily cut it and make it the shape of the top of the ant tower. I'll have to keep an eye to make sure they don't push it up, but if they do.. ill try to find a way to glue it with some non-toxic solution. I just ordered one from Amazon, I'm sure it ...

Re: How often should I feed my RIFA?

Thanks for your feedback.

I guess I will have to try to overfeed them and see how much is "too much" and then scale up/down from there accordingly.

How often should I water my small AC Tower?

I have a small colony of about 100-200 red fire ants and they are doing relatively well in the ant tower. I have a heating cable pretty close to one side of it, not directly touching it.. but it does provide good heat (and also condensation on the opposite side) I can understand why condensation is ...

Small Ant Tower and RIFA

I have a colony of 100-200 red fire ants in a small AC tower connected to a test tube portal and an outworld. The portal and outworld are quite secure when it comes to preventing my ants from escaping.. the problem is the small AC Tower.. The top of it had holes to allow from proper air circulation....

How often should I feed my RIFA?

I have a colony of about 100-200 red fire ants.. I feed them meal worms and sometimes ham (they love ham).. but mostly meal worms. I've been doing 1 meal worm every other day, but they are quite small.. for a few days I was doing 1 meal worm a day and they would always jump on it and eat it. When I ...

Re: Relocation

She's not going to let herself die. Although the tube may look empty to you, the cotton may still be moist enough for her to hydrate herself. As long as she has access to the new test tube you should just leave her alone and she will move when she's good and ready. If you want to be inpatient, you c...

Re: Forum Suggestions for a Better Community

Hey MadVampy, I apologize if my post seemed like an attack to you, mikey or this forums. My sole intentions were to suggest ways in which I felt would make the community even better than what it is now. I only mentioned my experience with forums to back up the suggestion with personal experience. Ev...

Re: Forum Suggestions for a Better Community

I agree with the majority of these suggestions, as I also find it confusing (even months later) to find the right sub section to post a niche topic. Most times I just post them in the section people are most active in, even if its not the best fitting section. I check the forums almost daiyl, but NE...

Re: Wild ants trying to kill my queen ant Help

Have you considered laying your queen/nest onto some sticky/anti-insect surface? or even surround it by water by using 2 different sized containers. If you don't want to spend on that, you can even use some cardboard and stick tape over it and lay your test tube/nest in the middle.. that should prot...
