Camponotus are definitely flying near Boston. Tons of alates in Somerville right now!

They are differently still flying today, found 2 queens in Somerville.

I was not able to find anything in Somerville yesterday. I will keep a lookout for flights around here today though.

Why did the warm weather have to leave? I was getting all ready for anting season to start and then we went back to 2 weeks of cold :cry:

I have heard conflicting reports on this. The Lasius Neoniger queens I caught last week still have not laid eggs. Some places say they will lay eggs within the first week like other species but other places say if they are caught late in the season then they will hibernate and lay their first eggs ...
