Re: Oklahoma Nuptial Flight Sightings 2020

Hi! I was wondering is there anywhere to buy ants in Oklahoma, there is not GAN farmers, so should I just wait and see if anyone signs up? Thanks! Hey, so after my first Queen I caught a few months ago, I got a second ant. I might be willing to sell them after the grow up a little bit. I'm not sure...

Re: PLEASE HELP Ant queen, bad water, no workers

Ok so she really doesn't want to move, she has been there for 24 hours and still has not moved. I tried to shake her out of the old test tube but she is clinging to the cotton. I'm really worried that I am bothering her too much, is it ok if I just attach another test tube of fresh water for her?

Re: PLEASE HELP Ant queen, bad water, no workers

Oh ok... I guess I'm freaking out over this a little more than I should. She started moving now and exploring the other tube. Should I be worried about her moving her eggs just into the dark part and not actually into the new tube?

Re: PLEASE HELP Ant queen, bad water, no workers

She has been exposed to the light for about an hour, maybe 45 minutes. I also made sure to cover the new test tube so it is very dark. Is it ok if she kind of falls to the other test tube? or should I try to coax her with a stick?

Re: PLEASE HELP Ant queen, bad water, no workers

Thank you very much for replying. How long should I let her sit here to see if she moves on her own? If it does come down to me physically moving her, how do I carefully move her eggs?

PLEASE HELP Ant queen, bad water, no workers

Hello, so I have a Queen Camponotus ant and she has laid about 15 eggs but her water has a green film in it. I prepared a new test tube set up for her but she doesn't seem to want to move into the good one. I have her under light on my desk where the light is brightest. Will she move at all? Is ther...

Re: Oklahoma Nuptial Flight Sightings 2020

So, right now I have my queen in a test tube in my room. My room is air conditioned so I need a way to keep her warm in my room. Does anyone know a better option than putting a heating pad close to them? I just have her in a cardboard box with the heating pad outside the box.

Re: Oklahoma Nuptial Flight Sightings 2020

Hey, so I'm pretty new too this whole thing too. I live in Stillwater. I just wanted to say a few things coming from a person who just caught their first queen ant a few days ago. 1) The queen ants look like queen ants. As in, they are BIG, compared to other ants. They will either have wings on them...
