i had a camponotus pennsylvanicus queen that had 2 nanitics with some brood. the 1st queen i ever caught. then even though i gave them food and water they mysteriously died. one nanitic dissapeared, then the other. i found one nanitic dead somewhat buried a few days later. then the queen just died....

if you have one of those glass medicine pill cylindrical containers you can use one of those. How do you give them water in that case? do the same thing as a test tube setup. fill water halfway, block it off with cotton, then put the ants in and block off the entrance with more cotton. i don't reco...

they are bringing the food into the nest for further consumption. once they are finished they will try to move it as far away from the nest as they possibly can. that way the food doesn't create mold within the nest and other ants or insectivores wont go into their nest and discover them. however in...

my queen is drinking a lot of water. she keeps eating her eggs and she regurgitates the water on the test tube. anybody know whats going on?

queens staying near the water logged cotton like more humidity, queens staying at the dry cotton may like less humidity or the testtubes humidity level is too high for their preference. as to them pulling on the cotton that is most likely because they are trying to modify their nest.
