I think it's because I had them in an air conditioned room before putting them...

Cat killed the majority of my ant colony...
Sadly, somehow my cat got inside of the closet where my ants are stored and completley decimated my tetramorium ant colony, now only two workers the queen and some eggs remain.. hopefully they can make a recovery.

First Queens of 2020!
Hi there everyone! Caught two of these queens in Anthem AZ at 6:30 PM Feb 20. Sry for bad image quality, the queens were running around a lot but now have decided to slightly calm down. Two ant colonies that I caught in stapleton CO, yes I live in two places. I have a feeling the smaller ones in the solo test tube are Tetramorium i'm unsure of the larger ones. I suspect that they are carpenter ants because of pictures i've seen of queens and workers and they spin cocoons but I woul...

Ant Identification from Denver CO Regieon
Just want to answer, YES, I live in two places, these ants were caught in Stapleton CO. I believe that the smaller ants in the test tube setup are Tetramorium immigrans. However, I don't know what the larger ones with the small outworld are. They currently have 4 workers, one queen, three eggs, and ...

Ant Nuptial Flights in Arizona
I live in the Anthem AZ area and was wondering if anyone knows the nuptial flight schedules of that area or surrounding area. I would also wish to know what species are flying so I can do my research and can be best prepared to house them.
