Seeking Advice - Bug Bombs/Bug Fogging house

So we have has a few too many run-ins with corckroachs or spiders crawling in through the pipes/air vents this summer. As such everyone in my house has voted to use insect foggers to bomb the house. This is fine. But I'm curious when I should bring my ants back inside. Thankfully they are in test tu...

Indetifying many queens! Black, Orange, Pavement?

Hello! Sorry to be back again so soon, but I hit the jack pot! Last night at work, I work the graveyard shift at a gas station, I managed to collect a great many queens, I'm hoping at least some of them are gravid. :D I'm thinking that all the large-ish black ones are Pavement Ants, but confirmation...

Ant Rescue and ID - Canon City, Colorado

Hello! Been a while since I was last here! ^^ This week while at work I experienced a scene from a horror movie while stocking a soda cooler, and a swarm of small black ants carrying brood came rushing out of a 12 pack case of mtn dew. O.O I thankfully work at night so I had the chance to scoop up a...

Hibernation Query - Warm winter

So normally where I live, southern Colorado but I'm in the mountains, we get pretty harsh winters and 2 phases of it, typically a cold spell between october-november and a lack of snow/cold in december part of jan and then more snow/cold in feb/march. My room, where I have my ant, has not ventilatio...

Re: First time ant keeper! Any tips?

Beep Boop! Just thought I would post an update on my girls! <3 I checked on them today and 2-3 of them have laid eggs! :D I have also noticed some mold developing on the water soaked cotton. I don't think it's enough to worry about quite yet, but I will be preparing more tubes for the next weekend s...
