Hi. ArizonanAnts here... I caught a small black queen back in October. She layed eggs and to my surprise, they formed into cocoons! What I read on the ant wiki says that C. penn. are monogynous meaning the colonies have one queen. It is possible that they are fighting because of this. I hope this helps :)

It all depends on the ant. I know some queens take a long time for their brood to develop. Also, the climate could affect development. Does she have eggs? If she does, don't worry. Just give her until spring, when it warms up, and see how she does. For example, I thought that smaller ants would deve...

Hey guys! I checked on what I think is a Minimorium Minimum and all of her eggs are larvae!!! Hopefully, in about 2 weeks we will see workers! The Solenopsis ant that I have seems to have about 30 to 40 eggs but no larvae. I did catch both of these on the same day so it makes sense that the Solenops...
