Yes I understand that, and i am sorry for it, but now i wonder so late into hibernation if they will eat anything i put in. I'm not trying to starve them, I know that's wrong.

has anybody had their camponotus ants eat one of their own workers? I've been watching a small group of 3 ants eat what looks like the remains of another ant but i cant be sure even when i use a macro lens to zoom in and check. am i going crazy? I've never had that before, but i guess in a pinch......

Some don't develop right, I had one that was still alive, but a few of its legs didn't work. It's just part of nature.

You'll know in a month or two when they all die off. lol, But if they are actively searching for food you should be fine.
